Following the continued growth of Djurs Sommerland, Leisure Expert Group was asked to develop the masterplan for the expansion of Vikingeland. This new area in the park needed to seamlessly transition with the existing themed area while introducing new experiences that strengthen the park’s position as one of Scandinavia’s leading family destinations.

At the heart of the expansion is Midgårdsormen, an exciting new Hot Racer coaster that brings a new level of thrill to the park. Around this flagship attraction, we developed a masterplan that considered capacity, guest flow, storytelling and landscaping.

The new expansion coming to the park in 2027 will be a vibrant world based on Norse mythology where the attractions, architecture, and public spaces come together to create an immersive guest experience. Throughout the design development of this area, each element was carefully considered to ensure a natural expansion of Vikingeland.
